I'm looking for information on how members clean the dust from all the "nooks and crannies" from a shell? I was using a q-tip on a GP 38, but it seemed like there should have been some kind of "moisture" on it to collect the dust. Any suggestions?

If possible, invest in a microbrush. a little dampness will be enough to brush away dust. A Q-tip works okay, but a microbrush has finer fibers. The downside to this kind of paintbrush is that it doesn't clean a lot of area, so a sponge works well by using the corners of the sponge to wipe away grime.
I also tend to use a toothbrush to get into places about 3/8" wide. Basically, what you want is something soft, absorbing, and small.
I use a ladies makeup brush. They are very soft. I hold a vacuum cleaner nozzle near where I am brushing to take away the dust.

Yep--I use a q-tip or makeup brush as well.

Ditto...works very well.
I've found the Busch Cyberclean product works very well for those places where a brush or blower have problems to reach. It's really easy to use, and leaves no residue.

Soft paint brush...
I use a cheapo 99 Cent (or less) paint brush from your local craft or home improvement store.
My sister gave me a box of manicure q-tips. They have a regular q-tip end, and a pointed q-tip end. I like them a lot, and I think you can get them at K-mart
I have a nice makeup brush set, works very well.

Just the ticket for a makeover! And maybe some mascara for weathering?
Wide, soft-bristled artist's brush.
I use everthing thats been listed above and I also use an old shave cream brush which works well.
If the crud is really stuck in there, I just use a dry wooden toothpick, carefully. Sometimes even a toothbrush can't reach all the the crannies.

This looks like an excellent idea Nicole. There are some places a brush and air just will not clean. I'm am going to buy some. Such a simpe idea. I would think Silly Putty or PlayDough would work but they would leave a residue I'm sure. Thanks for the tip.
