For a PC, you can try the standard Windows Photo Viewer(little curved arrows immediately to the left of the red "x" for file deletion).   Make a copy first if it looks right on your screen, but gets rotated when you post it - so you aren't modifying your original and then wonder why it's sideways on your PC after you post .

I've had a few times when the Forum Software rotated a pic or 2 I posted as well.  Never did figure out a hard reason why based on characteristics of the specific ones that had the problem.

Smart phones are the big offenders, I use IrfanView to rotate them on my computer.  Truthfully, for my phone pictures, I just rotate them in the application each time as the direction tags don't seem to always mean the same thing to phones.

+1 for Irfanview.  The IT guys at work get irritated every time I get a new laptop because they know I’m going to ask them to install it for me.

Picture orientation on my droid phones has been a non-issue. (15mpx and full manual ops. too)

Plenty of other G-issues to keep me busy swearing though.

Windows and cameras were another story on orientation, but I lost all confidence in MS anyhow with W10 burning up power supplies at first launch.(it never actually shut down power, just regulation and notification/lights.... unexcusable after about dozen in my care for updating toasted in a week or so.. maybe in another decade I'll give Bill's minions another shot )
