I've been going through some post-war Lionel satellite cars, and I can't tell if the satellites are original or reproductions.  I suspect that they may be reproductions since they're in really nice shape.

I've done a search on this topic, but I've come up empty handed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks BMORAN4,

That answered the question.  I love how fast we can get help on this great forum.

If anyone has any other hints beyond the solid base of the reproduction I'd appreciate further input.

I'm get ready to sell some of my military/space, and I don't want to misrepresent anything.

The repo satellites also have flat panel solar panel 'wings' The originals have a curve to them. Also the top on the originals have a E clip holding the top and bottom together, the repos are heat melted together. Also the Lionel remakes for the 3510 celebration series reissue, the solar panels are a sticker, on the originals and repos are heat stamped.

I appreciate the further information.  It looks like the ones I have are heat melted together without a clip.  So, even though there are the holes in the bottom half it is likely a reproduction.
