Okay.... this is going to be an opportunity to speak your mind. I've watched a lot of Pentrex, and rail video tapes over the years. And I've looked at a lot of pictures on the net. MTH has the molds for some of the following items....and I just can't believe they have not made these.

A reliable track activating device for accessories such as crossing gates.

A lock on with a spike suppression device (TVS) for conventional operators. Should be included in all starter sets. Boards in engines are needlessly stressed out and fail prematurely.

A quality speaker and sound system comparable to that of Railsounds 4 or 5.

Dale H

A decent C30-7 (upgrade the early Premier/ RK Scale model) or U36C, also a B23-7, B30-7 or B36-7

86 foot high cube boxcar.

65 foot Gondola.

IMHO - The U25B was a WASTE, when Weaver already has one, the U30C was also a Waste since Lionel has already done them. The SD24?  Somebody jumped the gun on these - Not a popular locomotive.  Might as well make an SF30C, GP40X or  CF7.

Southern Pacific SD45, Come on Already!!!  It seems Red/ Gray SP schemes are not "Old" enough for MTH to do.

I'm all for a Southern Pacific SD45, but if they're gonna do it then it needs to have the road-specific configurations before I'd jump on it.  (Red gyralite with L-shaped windshield for the late '60s-early 80's era, then the mid-80s- onward without the red gyralite and L-shaped windshield.  In other words, the tooling would have to be as modular as their SD45T-2.  The other thing they'd have to do is offer the model either with the standard wheel brake or the ratchet-style handbrake since this was done on the SD45 as well for various roads.

Matt-

MTH did a Santa Fe Kodachrome SD45 in 1995. Bill Clinton was President and the internet was not invented yet. And you didn't have to undergo a full blown body cavity search to board an airplane. That was nearly 20 years ago....I hope that's not the best MTH can do... In the meantime...how many runs of Pennsylvania or New York Central or Santa Fe Warbonnets has been made. MTH is re-doing a Bluebonnet SD40-2 - for a second time.

Due to the age of the Kodachrome SD45...that doesn't count.

Big Truck-

I am amazed that MTH has not made a Burlington Northern SD40-2. They have done several Union Pacific runs, Santa Fe and CSX. Yet the Burlington Northern was the largest railroad in the US to rooster the SD40-2. The BN fleet had 835 units roaming the country. Union Pacific was second with 686.

And yet MTH never made one with Proto 2 or 3? They made a Proto 1 model in 1999.

Lionel captured my order for the BN SD40-2 since they catalogued it in the most recent catalog.

I thought about that a few minutes after I posted. Plus they've been doing some of the original Premier paint schemes in the "ScaleKing" line.

As they say in eastern Kentucky, "I ain't buyin' nair'n dizzles".

Coming home, as usual lately, almost empty handed from York.....(like shopping for

autos from Detroit "They don't make what I will buy")  Hey..I'm not picky about manufacturers...Third Rail, WBB, Lionel, others on the fringe doing the Civil War locos, or even MTH ?...  Build it and I will come.

1. The mythical McKeen car..

2. A MODEL gas electric (a good model, not generic), Brill, GE, Edwards?....(yes,

Third Rail offers a PENNSYLVANIA specific one..I don't model the Pennsy)

3. Mack, Sykes, other railbus in three rail, good model, not generic (Mack is probably

most familiar to the largest market)

4. Small, 20-40 ton two-truck geared logging locos, Heislers (preferred by me) but

Climax..I think there is now a Shay from Lionel...

5. A whole lot of other stuff that has been offered, often repeatedly,  in HO, and

sometimes in old O scale brass, such as recently mentioned International and Ken

Kidder, since WWII, but heck, it took FOREVER to get freight engines like Mikados

and Consolidations, other engines such as Ten Wheelers, 4-8-2's, offered in three

rail..... (a lot of this may have come from a rejuvenation of interest in three rail,

and the expansion of that interest into a larger population, and beyond historical

collecting..oh, well, if nothing new is interesting, there is always historical

collecting and we can concentrate on that at York)

But...it is sounding like the sources for these may be in disarray, and why none of

us are getting our druthers...(not to mention the economy, or because of the

    economy?)

"CP RAIL"  FP7's, or F7's or F3's   the ones with the multimark and stripes on the nose,......... like the new MTH E8's in multi mark. They have never ever been done in "O" gauge. We have enough versions in the maroon, grey and gold already. Would go nicely with the Golden Gate Multi Mark Canadian set That is coming in the fall. !!!
Please..................Cheers

3rd Rail is offering it. However I would prefer Proto2 and diecast for the 4-8-0 and plastic (like the C&O Turbine) rather than brass. Also the $1900.00 price tag from 3rd Rail is a little steep.

It's only money; sell off a few percent of your current inventory and you should have enough,

Regarding the MNS box cars.

There could be MNS 40' Box Cars made for the Premier line.

MTH made a limited run of the Minneapolis & Northfield Thrall Car ALL DOOR Box Cars, but what they need to offer now are new road numbers of the MNS ALL DOOR Box Cars in 6-Car Sets. MNS had 100 Thrall ALL DOOR box cars, but they in the past year they were rounded up and scrapped.

Atlas O recently produced the MNS 50'-6' ACF Box Cars in the TrainMan Line, so MTH has to make the other MNS box cars styles, then get offer their version in the Premier line.

Atlas O had made the deep blue MNS Evans 53' Box cars, but those were a very limited production. MTH has to offer the MNS Evans 53' box cars because everybody could not get the Atlas O version.

They can catalog the Grand Trunk Western ACF Center Flow 3-Bay Covered Hopper, after the GTW ex-DTS ACF Center Flow 2-Bay Hoppers are in production.

What has not been done is a Premier line Chicago & North Western Falcon Service train series with the C&NW SD40-2 diesel and two 6-Car sets of Trailer Train Flat Cars with CNWZ 40' Trailers all with the Falcon Service graphics. The totally correct graphics this time.

Andrew

SPSF was wrong about the MTH offering the U30C because Lionel has not offered as many roadnames and as many road numbers as MTH has produced. Lionel has even cancelled the Rock Island and Missouri Pacific U30C production runs. The only way to get the paint schemes and road number somebody wants on a Lionel U30C is to get an undecorated U30C diesel to apply custom paint and decals.

Could MTH put Digital Command System boards in the Non-Motorized models of the U30C that were equipped with lights, smoke, and remotely operated couplers?

Andrew

More modern G gauge diesels!!! Aces, SDs, GPs, AC6000, even an AC4400.

Hello! You left me with a couple of Dashes?? Make them, they will sell. Well, I'll buy a couple anyways.

...and their MP15 railking switchers should have 3/2 trucks on them and/or be premier. The detailing looks that good to me. I should not have to drill and machine a new diesel to run it 2 rail. I will if I have to. Joe
