A true old 3 rail scale factory locomotive, meaning flanges and all, but came with large tinplate size knuckles (still in the parts box) and a center pickup.
Box label in International's Scale Model Locomotive Cars and Kits. Drawing sheet shows IMP which I know as International Model Products.
Box label and instructions show as "Screw Driver Assembly". I always thought IMP was an early brass importer, but I use the modern term of hybrid as this engine has all fabricated brass running gear and a brass cab roof, but has a very sharply molded plastic boiler and tank assembly.
instructions show a manual reversing switch in the wiring, but I can't find it if it's there. I'm sure the single pickup would have trouble on most switches, but that doesn't bother me. I'll get the little (actually very big for an 0-4-0T) engine going and keep it just like it is.
Mechanics notwithstanding the aesthetics rank right up there or better than the other B&O engines I've seen.
Don't know the commonality of this type inside three rail, I have a Scalecraft SP MT4 4-8-2 with factory inside pickups, but they seem to be more uncommon that two rail and outside third rail.
