There would have been only three model railroading scales--TT, S, and 1/32 scale. It would have made so much sense to do it that way.

In a weird way, I know I'm in On30 because it's very similarly sized to S standard gauge (I know that sounds odd, but compare a S scale 40 ft boxcar with an On30 Bachmann boxcar and you will see what I mean.

Also, think how easy a TT scale Sw1 would be compared to doing it in N scale--and this would have been a much bigger deal back in the late 60's--mid 70's during N scale's formative years.

Oh well...if ifs and buts were candy and nuts...
