Would you recommend it as a first printer still?

I have many different printers Prusa, Bambu, and Voron DIY printers. Tried resin to messy

I can vouch for Bambu's they just work and say without a doubt very good buy. I would definitely go with a P1P or P1S the carbon is not worth the extra money in my honest opinion.

The only thing with Bambu is its proprietary and no guarantee on future support and they are currently being sued for patent infringements so there is that and did not stop me from buying one.

Vorons are fun and print great to but you have to build them from kits great learning experience. open source so part will not be an issue in the future.

Prusa are great too they work as well bit expensive but open source so part will not be an issue in the future.

Support i good for all of these printers. Bambu ams is the easiest solution for multicolor printing and I have tried most of them.

I like the A1's $299 price. Been thinking about getting into 3d printing and that seems like a great price. Couple tunnel portals and other train things, it's paid for.

Jeff,

It is a very good price but think about if your going to want to print ABS or ASA at some point because an enclosure is important for that which make the P1S nice choice. You can only use the AMS lite if you want to do multicolor and its quite the pain because of the space it requires.

I have the A1 Mini with the AMS lite and I am seriously thinking about the P1S just for the being able to stack it on top.

I found out what happened to get this...

Turns out the top of the tunnel portal pieces simply won't print flat, even with a brim!  I'm printing one of them vertically now, and it's sticking fine.  It's totally covered in tree supports, looks pretty ridiculous!   If I didn't know what I was printing, I'd probably abort the print because I figured something else was printing!

Were you originally trying to print front side down?(Lettering down?)

Flipping it on its back should work since it's be flat, and no tree supports.

I have the A1 mini combo, awesome little unit. I also have the P1S Combo with an extra AMS which is equally awesome. Bambu's user experience is by far heads and shoulders above anyone else.

I also have the flashforge adventurer 5m Pro, it prints excellent, but there's little to no software for a comparable user experience.

Anycubic has pretty much tried to copy Bambu's user experience with their phone app and maker online (compared to Bambu's Handy app for the phone and Makerworld<<see how they copy over there?). I have the Kobra 3 Combo, I'd much rather have bought the A1. However, Anycubic will be launching the S1 soon, it's pretty much a copy of the P1S, and can accept up to two Ace units (P1S can take 4 AMS units). I would think the S1 will come in under the price of the P1S, it ought to by at least a hundred bucks, otherwise get the Bambu

John's K1C is a good printer, they worked all the bugs out of the K1, then renamed it. I wonder what slicer John's using? I don't think creality has an orca based slicer, but I know it's printer profile is in the newer orca slicer(which is where Bambu's studio and Anycubic next comes from)

I have been using an elegoo Neptune 3 pro.  Was able to get it at a great price as they were introducing the Neptune 4.  It is much better than the Anet a8 I had which eventually died.  Alan said he constantly had to level his, I think they fixed that.  The slicer I am using is the latest version of Cura. I made an MP 15 in o scale to fill an empty space in my yard which came out pretty good.  Someday I may try to power it.

Has anyone installed Klipper on their printer does it improve prints and print faster?

It's hollow, so it would need to be supported inside.  Also, there are brackets inside that put it together, they have a close fit that would be compromised by all the supports and the stringy inside where it's unsupported.

Printing it upside down worked perfectly, no flaws anywhere as the top is perfectly flat, and the sides are vertical.

Doing it that way yielded a great print.

I use the slim tree supports, they usually break away with minimal impact on the surface of the part.  And since it's a stone finish, any little irregularities look like they belong there.

So far the printer has exceed my expectations, the only problems are almost always self-inflicted wounds.  The Creality software is another matter.  Creality actually did kinda' start to get their act together with the latest Creality Print, but I've been using Orca recently for most prints.  For whatever reason, I have not been able to get Cura to recognize the WiFi for the printer, although I can use the USB to print with it.  Since I like Orca as much or better than Cura, I haven't spent any significant time on getting it to run wirelessly.

My printer is in another room, hence the desire to have it networked.

The Creality K1C is a Klipper based printer.  Any print quality issues I've had have been me or the Creality crappy software.  Here's a sample of prints with various Creality Print versions and Orca 2.2.0 on the right.  For all the 5.1.4.xxx versions, Creality forgot how to print curved surfaces, and the printing in general was lousy.  They did clean it up with the latest 5.1.6.xxx versions, hopefully they keep moving in the right direction.
