For those of us who had the honor of knowing our friend Owen Sturm we all knew he was the best of the best! He always talked about his layout and what he planed to do with it and "Always" had a smile on his face and willing to talk about trains. Tonight I got an email from Floyd Seib complimenting me on the tinplate crane I bought from him at "Trainstock" at the NJHR 3 weeks ago. What I didn't know is that very crane was Owens crane! Floyd told me Owens wife was going to throw the old rusted crane away. Needless to say that old rusted toy I brought back to life is way more speacial to me now and I'll always think of our friend "paulinskill" whenever I run it!

Very cool, thanks for sharing that.
Its easy to remember those who make a positive impact on your life and Owen was one of those people that always did. Having something that once belonged to Owen makes that memory more special. Owen was simply a great guy.
Owen was a good guy. Nice to see your work will help keep his spirit alive.
That is so nice Chris. A wonderful preservation of his memory.
You need a man on the crane with Owen's hat and suspenders.
That's cool Chris. I really miss Owen.
Chris, that is terrific. Nicely done and thanks for sharing the story. Owen was a true ambassador for the hobby.

Owen was a great guy. He was always present at Round the Clock for breakfast with us.
thanks for sharing your story! those of us lucky to have "experienced" him, well, at least me, are envious of your crane, especially how well you revived it.
