I'm posting this here for those unfortunate few who have had problems like I did with the 6-83071 Lionchief Universal Remote. I was trying to run two engines:

Santa Fe Super Chief (Lion Chief)

Hudson 170 Nickel Plate (Lion Chief +)

I also tried a NON Bluetooth engine- the A5 0-4-0 Bethlehem Steel Switcher

It's really immaterial what engines or pair I ran, I kept having the same problem- One engine either on the inner loop or outer loop would lose contact with the remote signal briefly, and then come back on. There was no rhyme or reason to this pattern- it happened with all combinations of engines, running on either loop!

Yet, I could run 2 engines simultaneously without a problem if I used ONE of the dedicated remotes that came with it,  and ran the other engine from the Universal remote. Go figure???

And, of course, if I used BOTH of the remotes that came with the engines, there was no problem.  At this point, after tearing apart my layout, changing out switches, taking off insulator pins,  and eliminating anything that I could think of that could be causing interference with the BLUETOOTH signal  I also disconnected all of my Amazon Echo Dots, and I even shut off my Vizio Soundbar because the subwoofer communicates with the soundbar via bluetooth.

Then almost ready to give up, I saw that my Amazon Echo SHOW was still hooked up and powered on.  I pulled out the power supply and VOILA! NO MORE INTERFERENCE!!!

I can now run any combination of engines, on any loop, and no more short intermittent dropouts! So, for anyone else having problems with this universal remote, I would advise to have more patience than I had, calm down, and methodically go around the house, and start disconnecting any bluetooth devices temporarily until you find the culprit!

Hope this helps someone!
