I ran Super-O for a very long time and recently moved over to Atlas. Both are extremely quiet especially on homasote or soundboard (same as homasote... it's just recycled sugar cane fiber here in the south). I even bought some used atlas track and it's absolutely fine. The turnouts (all new) are great too... the switch machines ...well, I went with tortoise. I'm not blaming the switch machine... I decided I wanted constant power to the machine and not have to deal with coils and finicky springs to keep points tight to the stock rail, plus I don't have to look at switch machines topside. I'm going to pick up a couple of used turnouts and toss the switch machines and see how that goes.
I had originally posted this in the 3-rail forum to ask opinions if people thought it was the quietest compared to other brands out there. I did not have a question about the product itself.
There's an Atlas Forum?

I brought this point up to the mod but s/he deleted my post. At any rate, from the discussion I hope you got enough information to make an informed decision.
If the Atlas folks do read their own forum, the key consideration is "Available supply!" Get yourself a big warehouse in the Arizona desert, and fill it! Run 'em till the dies fold!!
Atlas forum is here:
