Just curious if anyone knows if the 6-22983 180 watt brick is being replaced with the newest GW-180 Transformer: 180 Watts, Two Output, Mid-Range Transformer? Since the 6-22983 has been on back order for so long, I was just wondering if it still be produced or replaced ? The shipping schedule shows that the 6-22983 item will ship this month...but who knows?

I checked the lionel web site and the # 6-22983 still shows a 180 watt brick ? Is lionel going to make a 180 watt transformer ?

from what I can see the GW-180 use an external 180 watts brick.
Considering that each GW-180 is shipped with a 6-22983 brick, I would venture a pretty good guess that it is not being discontinued.
The brick will be around for a while. The GW-180 is a CW-80 style handle unit with a 180 watt brick that plugs into the back just like the Celebration ZWs. From the picture I have seen it will only have one control handle.
