So it turned out I had a brick out of phase and a few bad pieces of fast track.  To be honest, life was very complicated which meant I just couldn’t attack it… but we cleaned up the room and got at it this weekend..  My son got his layout running under the table too he is very happy

Then you both had a good weekend.  Where did you get that Big Sky Blue Great Northern F-unit?

Here is another view of the layout. So I am still having some problems with power drops on the internal spurs but I will fix those two years later 😂.  It’s just good to see trains running again!

I think the F unit came in a set with the BN F unit. Lionel Legacy. Must have been 4-5 years ago?? Ben

Thank you sir.  I've ben priced out of the New market for some time now so I haven't kept up with the catalogs.

@banelson What a nice looking layout! Got to feel good to get it moving again. Amazing sometimes how we can get away from the trains for a good while and then get back into it again. Same happened for me and my son! Best of luck getting everything back going again.

Train race, modern vs steam:

The  dog bone layout is one of my favorites, that junction in the middle can be made to look so busy with lots of routing options, and give the tower operator a real ulcer.

Thanks I have to fix some track issues.  At this point I can reverse the train on the internal loop which is nice but the internal spurs are fussy with some power issues. Will work on that at some point.  Then I can run a couple smaller trains.
