IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!!  Share your team track photos here!   Team tracks are a vital part of real railroad day to day operations.  Found in rural, small town, and large cities, team tracks can service practically every kind of freight car, some passenger head end equipment and MOW equipment too.

The purpose of this thread is to inspire one another with our creativity of team track scenes.  Open to seriously detailed models/modelers, to a siding off a loop of tin plate 027 track, this thread is for everyone with a team track.

This week on the Free State Junction Railway's team track in lower Patsburg, we have a Western Maryland 40 ft. boxcar loaded with building supplies being off loaded.   Share what's happening on your railroad's team track.   Have a wonderfully creative week!!  IMG_2680IMG_2681IMG_2684IMG_2685

Good morning, Patrick, fellow Team Trackers and Team Track visitors!

There's some serious work happening at the Everett Team Track.

rr-tt-power-1

Evidence of Valley Power’s massive expansion plans for the Packsaddle Narrows Power Plant is on display in Everett. What seems like an endless parade of power generation equipment has been processed through the Team Track this week. Additional deliveries are expected to continue through the weekend.

rr-ttt-power-6

Why not use the more convenient Packsaddle siding? Slugs. After that incredible mess caused by Slugfest 2017, the Railway eliminated passenger and freight service to the Narrows.

"Quite simply, Valley Railway trains will not stop in Packsaddle Narrows until Valley Power eliminates the risk of reinfestation. I have no additional comments at this time." - Isaac Reynolds, General Manager - Valley Railway.

breaking-news

Still, that hasn't slowed down the power company's expansion plans. Valley Power crews have been in Everett around the clock since last Wednesday. They are carefully examining every load before transferring the expensive new equipment to company trucks for the short trip north to Packsaddle Narrows.

rr-ttt-power-2

Today’s shipment may be the most interesting. The shipment includes the much-anticipated Perpetual Motion Generator (PMG)! Valley Power hopes to use this controversial piece of equipment to provide continuous energy for the plant’s plasma generators.

Good morning fellow team trackers!!!  Wonderful photos!  Your imaginations overflow with such wonderful creativity!!!

ABBRAIL -  Very cool scenes!!  Lots of new power coming to the Valley!  Always love your narrative!!

SDIV TIM - Got to love a Galloping Goose!!  Nice idea and photo for the team track!!  No need to take time off.  Repeats are always good.  How many times have we all enjoyed a repeat TV show?  Just saying.

MARK DIF -  WOW !!  I almost did a tanker off load scene this week too   I was going to show off my new tanker truck I bought off the Bay.  Since I could not make it to York last week, I treated myself to some purchases ( loads, vehicles, and last week's TTT Atlas O pulpwood cars ) from the Bay instead

Your tanker scene looks terrific!! Love the hose!  What did you use?  AND When are you going to let us in on whats happening with old man Haney's place?

Keep the team track photos coming!!

Hi Guys Happy TTT

Doing double duty on the RSJ&B team tracks this week. Deliveries were backed up while the signal crew was finishing up their project.  We have a new crew working on the tracks this week too.

First we have some containers being unloaded for a local factory.

2017-05-01 20.25.47

While the trailer is being loaded, PRR 8506 is waiting to move the crane into position.

Once the trailer was out of the way the crane was brought in to unload more cable and steel for the new pump house.

The day just got a bit more interesting in Everett. There's long been skepticism and distrust surrounding Valley Power's stated goals for Packsaddle Narrows. Some residents even go as far as to claim the very idea of perpetual motion is impossible as it would violate the laws of thermodynamics. They believe this entire PMG narrative is being used to cover up the true purpose of the company's expansion project.

rr-tt-power-8

A small crowd of naysayers with homemade signs has taken up a position at the team track. VP Trucks are still being loaded but they may be stuck here for a while.

Nice scene, what wheels did you put on the Tootsie tanker?  The look very good!

The crew has really had to hussle at the Tomlinson Run Railroad's team track today!  Just in was Chef Chuck Wagon's new diner building.  What a surprise "food delivery"!  Not content with a first-rate dining car, Chef decided to expand his culinary outlets by opening a track-side diner.  Chef needs to "expand" about as much as the Pillsbury Dough Boy, but there's no arguing with Chef when he gets a bee in his bonnet ... er ... toque.  Yes, it's not for nothing that the railroad kitchen staff has dubbed Chuck Wagon "Chef One Toque Over the Line (Sweet Jesus)". Behind his back, of course!

Just last week, Chef wanted to chop off the cab of the tourist railroad's beloved RS-1 engine to create a hot dog stand.  For the back story on Chef's inspiration -- the Black Diamond Diner in NY -- and his failed attempt at commandeering the Tomlinson Run Railroad's RS-1's cab, see this post (scroll down to the Footnote for Chef's cameo).

Thwarted just in time by the Conductor, senior management was relieved but concerned about appeasing their volatile and unpredictable cook.  He does after all draw a crowd like no pest strips draw flies.  And he'll stick with an idea like a no pest strip, too. To distract Chuck from his hot dog obsession, the TRRR's CEO Tina ordered him a used diner building, and she offered the unused patch of land in between the dining car's commissary track and the team track to set it up.  However, the procurement department (fooled by the snazzy photo) didn't realize that the diner they purchased had been disassembled and was in storage.  Boy, were they surprised when the boxcar and gondola showed up!

Chef watched the men unload the building materials and diner parts from the cars from his perch at the front of the RS-1.  He, in turn, was watched by the Conductor -- closely -- just in case Chef had a relapse after seeing the state of his new diner and decided to try and remove the RS-1 cab again.  Seriously, how far do you think he'd get with that spatula and oven mit?

The steward ponders how the heck he's going to get the plastic cow loaded onto the truck bed.  Chef ordered the cow thinking that a little "roadside" art would be just the thing to attract diners from beyond the rail yard and get more visitors to sample his legendary food when the trains weren't running.

The ever creative Chef also ordered a giant gelato spoon to turn into a sign in case the cow didn't "moove" people.  There's Bobby the Boy Scout who helped build the RR's colorful loading dock sitting in the back of a truck trying to keep the spoon steady.  Meanwhile, another truck hauls the stools and other interior details to the building site:

Well, the materials were finally unloaded, but =shush!= don't tell Chef this little publicized fact:  Who knows when the carpenters will arrive to reassemble his diner?  Rumor has it that his new refrigerator and Viking stove just shipped today.  Hopefully, when they arrive at the team track, Chef Chuck Wagon will be so distracted that he won't notice that no one's working on his diner building yet!  One can only hope ... hot dog anyone?

Hi Patrick. Thanks for the kind words. The hose is simple 22 gauge wire. The word going around the water holes is that this weekend is move in weekend and the new business will be open for business next week. (keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi Dennis! Yes, that is a Tootsie Toy Tanker. The wheels are from a company called "Don Mills Models". Check out this thread: Inexpensive O Gauge Vehicles In it, I describe how I improved that tanker plus a couple of other Tootsie toy trucks for use on O gauge layouts.

Thanks, Tomlinson Run. TTT is the perfect place to vent a little wacky creativity each week.

The bucket truck (by New Ray) is part of my new fleet that just arrived this past week. As soon as time permits, they will be painted and decaled for Valley Power.

Thanks for the info on your new truck acquisition, Thomas.  I will definitely look forward with great anticipation to the Valley's new diner.  Will it be near the team track?  Chef's diner is being built at a snail's pace and the contractor is slow as molasses.  But Chuck doesn't mind as both facts sound edible.

Speaking of "wacky creativity", humor and playing with trains like we played with or imagined as kids is a great outlet and contrast to the rest of the week.  I foolishly was up until 1:00 AM last night working on next week's script:  Here's a teaser ... Tomlinson RUN! It's Sharknado!  :-)

See you next week.

Two things Thomas,

Next time you go past the Jaite freight station on Vaughn Road notice in front a little concrete stand.  This is where the order board semaphores were mounted.

Some where here I have a B&O employee timetable listing the industries served on the Valley line.  I'll look harder for it.  There used to be a siding crossing Riverview that serviced the water treatment plant with chemicals.

Yes pallets are versatile and can be very much the part of the team track scenery. They add a "real" dimension to scene.   I remember, as a kid,  often being at the the B&O team track in my town.  There were always pallets laying around on the ground.
