It's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!! Share your team track photos here!
Team tracks are a vital part of real railroading's day to day operation. Team tracks are undesignated sidings/spurs that serve no one particular industry ie: fuel oil distributor or grain elevator or lumber yard. Practically every type of freight car can be on/off loaded on a team track. Some passenger equipment and MOW equipment can also be handled on team tracks.
Show us what's happening on your railroad's team track (s). If you have a museum quality layout or a simple oval of track with an undesignated spur/siding go ahead and post photos of your team track operation.
This week on the Free State Junction Railway's team track one in Lower Patsburg, a Railway Express Agency baggage car is seen being loaded from both sides of the car. On one side is a REA tractor trailer and the other is a REA step van ( just purchased at York ). The dispatcher has given the REA crews exactly one hour to get the job done for the next trains due are in 1 hour 15 minutes and 1 hour 22 minutes respectively. Their trucks have to clear the mains in exactly 60 minutes which gives a 15 minute buffer before Powhattan Arrow charges through at 90 miles per hour on track one. In one hour 22 minutes a coal drag will pound the rails of track 2.
Go ahead and post your photos. Real railroad team track photos are welcome too! If you miss posting on Tuesday, no worries, go ahead a post any day of the week. Have a wonderfully fun and creative week!! See ya next week on the TEAM TRACK!
