K Line Milk Car

I have had a Lionel "K-Line" 6-22149 Milk Car for around 8 years. A few years ago the torsion spring in the milk car broke and Lionel's parts list said that it was unavailable. A friend of mine made a replacement spring and got it to work after many modifications. Since I now live around five hours away from him, I'd like to find a replacement spring in case that replacement spring breaks. I looked on eBay and there are dozens of torsion springs with descriptions. I have no idea which type would be suitable to use as a replacement when the time comes. Does anyone know what type of torsion spring will work? I have attached a photo of the Lionel part.
