I have a K-Line Reading Crusader set which I Just ran for the first time a few weeks ago and discovered the K-Line real sounds leaves much to be desired. The chugging seems to have 3 speeds from the voltage input and the reverse unit failed and will only run forward. I will probably upgrade to a Dallee or when available if possible to Proto 3. Has anyone else had issues with the K-Line sound?

You may want to try electric RR for an sound unit, similar to Lionel and will most likely fit into the K-Line space where the old unit came out of.
Proto 3 by MTH might get expensive, you may also want to look at Williams by Bachmann for sound or control units.

Realsounds was awful. It should have never been released. 
Don't worry too much about your K-Line (not so) real sounds sounding bad. Soon enough it will conk out and stop entirely. 
It sounds like it is dying lol. Chuffs slow then sounds like it's huffing and puffing for dear life lol. I'll look into Electric RR and Dallee.
