I have a NYC version and it has always been a good performer. I've run it at open house events for hours at times pulling substantial length freights and never had any problems. I like the lit up lanterns on the tender and firebox glow features.
I have the southern pacific version. They are very well detailed, are "traditional size," and run very well. The sound system is not up to modern standards, as the chuff can get to be annoying, but there is a volume control so it can be turned down or off.
