I am thinking about switching to Kadee couplers on my 3-rail O layout (under construction). My minimum radius is 36" (O-72 curves), O-72 turnouts, and #4 turnouts. I would like to know anyone's experience using the "new" Kadee 740 couplers with the electrocouplers on MTH, Lionel, and Atlas locomotives. Most of my locomotives (steam & diesel) are MTH, but I have some TMCC locomotives (Lionel, Atlas & 3rd Rail). I would like to continue to use all my locomotives' electrocouplers, using the electrocouplers to couple directly to the Kadee couplers on all my rolling stock. Here are my questions:
Are the Kadee 740 couplers compatible with the electrocouplers on MTH, Lionel, and Atlas locomotives?
Do the Kadee 740 couplers work well with the electrocouplers for both switching and long trains?
Will the Kadee 740 be able to close the electrocoupler's knuckle when coupling?
