As a follow on to my last post the third locomotive built by E.O. Hammill of Portland arrived today. Notes on the carrying box state it took 21 months to build and was completed in November 1970. Any ideas as to the source for this kit, I looked online at Scale Craft, All Nation etc. but didn’t find anything that matched at least to my eyes. It’s a neat piece, 30” coupler to coupler and weighs around 22 pounds. 8463032A-F974-4EAF-B5D4-7C19087E958DD8A9E26E-6856-4118-9DBB-87BD36B84431B4EBE684-FFBF-4EA8-AFD1-B08FE49314EC11BCEAD4-DDC1-4EEA-9737-7062BBE4221068E62D03-A027-4E14-B4DC-B443D703D30E1A4AF6EF-8D86-4049-8874-8C518A615F4A

Very strange looking tender, with all those hatches over what should be the "fuel" bunker. What was the proposed prototype?

Not sure on the prototype or if there even is a specific one. The engine "feels" a bit SP or ATSF to me, but I am not sure. I agree the tender looks hatch happy doesn't it? I've seen tenders that also have access hatches over the oil bunker but not that many! I am going to leave it as is and just do a little paint touch up in places and enjoy it as Mr. Hammill built it all those years ago. Now I just have to figure out how large a radius this thing is going to need to run.
