Good job...now I am going to have to let that Q combine caboose kit cut in front to
those structures so I can find out if these are more difficult than I remember....

Your our Hero...Nice work!
...so, when are you starting another one?!
Thanks, LOL! Well as they say when things are fresh in the mind and tools are out on the table...
I think if I had ventured to do it for myself it would still be under the layout. I had a much higher incentive on this kit.
I really like the closed vestibule cars and I have been eyeing up this one.... What one are you doing?
I like this observation car:
-Sacramento traction combine 0-262
-Here's where I left off at,
Bob,
Your chippin' away at it... yep if I had to do it again I would mail the roof off and them sand the ends! If not the 'glue on' fixture really helped my sanity...
Here's some motivational photos: http://www.midcontinent.org/collectn/collect.html click on the wooden passenger cars. Nothing prettier!
Thanks Mark... some of the lake Superior and Ishpeming cars did not weather very well through the 80's and 90's too bad, hope some find an indoor home.
Great job J Daddy! For more pics of the same kit, I posted this about a year ago: https://ogrforum.com/t...e-passenger-car-kits
J Dad - MidContinent does have some indoor storage sheds for their priceless equipment, thank goodness. A tremendous amount of voluntary labor goes into the cars' restoration. For those whose model railroading lineage goes back to Model Railroader in the '50's, MCRR even has a Mineral Point & Northern passenger car, namesake of editor Paul E. Larsen's beautiful HO layout.
Mark are they for public visits and photos? Sure would be nice to see.

David, Wow I like the black pinstripe and outlines... How long did it take you to complete yours?
It took me about three months, but that was because I was building two at a time (not recommended) and I worked very sporadically. My guess is I could build one in a week or two. The paint job was much simpler to do than it looks - paint the whole thing black, then add the tuscan. The roof is the same black color, but with Dullcote instead of a satin finish. I'm glad to see somebody else is doing these - they're great fun if you have the patience!
J dad - Yes, when I was last at Mid Continent, and I presume things haven't changed, one could enter the storage sheds freely. But, due to the cars being stored pretty close together, photos are pretty difficult. The cars come out for special photo events, but generally Mid Continent uses some Lackawanna and C&NW steel open-end cars for regular service. If and when CNW 4-6-0 #1385 returns to service, a trip to North Freedom wil again be a trip to paradise (and not in PA!)
Looking for trucks? SMR has Victorian era passenger car trucks in stock now. We will be stocking Civil War period passenger trucks in April.
We also carry two sizes of wood beam freight trucks and will be receiving a shipment of early iron arch bar trucks in April as well.
If you are interested in Link & Pin couplers, we have them too!
