Boston Metro Hi-Railers Model Rail Road Club’s Christmas Open House Event (Dec 13) Recap
The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) had a great and exciting experience at the Boston Metro Hi-Railers Railroad Club’s (BMHR) Christmas Open House event on Saturday, December 13, 2014. LCCA members, family all had fun attending this family friendly, train filled, holiday season event. The surprise guest, Santa Claus was as jolly and jovial as he usually is. Everyone enjoyed the largest O-gauge model train layout in the state of Massachusetts and numerous other trains on display or in operation. LCCA volunteer member George Sipprell, Valerie List and friends were there representing the LCCA during this event. LCCA members received a LCCA commemorative billboard insert and LCCA Special Event Pin. The LCCA donated several LCCA raffle door prizes for those attending. This BMHR also featured two layouts dedicated to the children with Santa Clause running the trains. The Club ran their best trains, both passenger and freight. Special trains included the Acela, NSA Rocket, Milwaukee Hiawatha, New Haven, Boston and Maine and C&O coal train, as well as several new freight car sets. Everyone enjoyed their 60'x40' multi-level partially completed layout that the club continues to work on.
Thank you for all attending and experiencing these phenomenal train operating layouts, sharing your time with other LCCA members, and starting off your holiday season celebration with the LCCA and the BMHR! Welcome all new LCCA members who joined our club during this event! This is your club and I invite you to attend and participate in as many LCCA activities as you possibly can. The more active your participation, the more enjoyment and benefit you will receive.
The LCCA is very excited about being in Boston during this festive Holiday season!
