Hi Guys the LCCA has posted pics and order form on the LCCA website for this TINPLATE TRAIN SET.
This is a one time only and limited to 500 sets. A 3 car set with a Commodore Vanderbilt locomotive with an optional add-on coach car. Engine is Fire Mist Black metallic paint and cars are Fire Mist Ruby metallic and Fire Mist Black roofs. This is for members only and one set per member.

Nice looking set, but I’ll have to think this one over. I have quite a bit of pre-ordered tinplate coming in (supposedly 
) in the next couple of months so may take a pass on this.
Interesting seeing the price on this. If I’m not mistaken, that’s exactly the MSRP Lionel listed for the repro Red Comet set and maybe some others that are similar to this.

I was really looking forward to this set, and I had every intention of ordering one. I'll have to wait until I see some better pictures, but at this point I'm thinking probably not. I'm not loving that red/wine/burgandy. I believe that is the same price as the Pre-War celebration Red Comet set.

yes the price is about the same as the red comet but remember its a couple years later and the cost to produce trains has risen considerably. the cars are not burgandy. visit your local caddy dealers and see the colors close up. the cars are red. the photo can only do so much.
