Do you think the new sensor products, wifi and other electronic devices are aimed at newbies or those that have not completed a layout?
Also does anyone think that they will completely revise their layout to accommodate these new products?
A lot of us do not use Lionel track so making the change to Fastrack would be very expensive if you already have a layout using other track systems.

I for one will modify sections of my layout to adapt the sensor track to my Atlas O. I played around a bit this weekend to see how difficult it would be to add some Fast Track and found it to be not too bad depending on how your track is laid. I think if you have cork road bed it will be fairly easy.
While I won't completely go to Fast Track, I will most likely add sensor tracks.
It would be a ot easier to build a new layout and add these components but then again I am always messing around with my track so to me it's not a big deal. I also feel that Lionel will have to make a sensor system that will be adapted to other track types. Maybe something that clips on.
I'll add that LCS is a modular system and SensorTrack is not a required component. In other words, I expect there will be operators who add LCS to their layouts but do not purchase a SensorTrack. DCC users are an example.
It should be very easy to use the sensor track with almost any track system if you wish. I intend to use the LCS app and the system.
