3 1/2 out of7 units have failed and i don't know why. these are not under warranty.the lady at lionel said to send them to a certified repair dealer.how would you repair them?they are pcb's.

I guess it depends on how they failed what the repair would be. That's unusual to be sure, I'd be looking at something like a runaway power supply taking them out.
they are powered from the ser2 .directly to the unit
Regardless of how they're powered, I'd check the voltage of the power supply as a first step. Are you talking about the IRV2 sled or the box?
