I am modeling the lead and zinc mining area in and a round picher Oklahoma. I was curious if any one else was doing lead and zinc mines, and if they had pictures of their work.

I know the carnegie science center in pittsburgh has a mine on their layout. hard to find photos of it though on their page
Thanks
Any and all ideas welcome. There are lots of coal, gold mines etc out there but lead and zinc mining is quite a bit different. Structures are going to be hard to find so I will be making most of mine from scratch.
Am doing the 50s and early 60s. My family operated mines in that area from the 30s through the 60s when it all kinda played out. Then my grandfather had a store in Quapaw up to about 1975.

I knew jack buzzard from that picture. He had two brothers, junior and pen buzzard. Also knew Shade Stone.
Thanks for the link
From those Quapaw photos, I can't say those mine buildings look much different than
iron or copper mines in the Upper Peninsula in Mich., or gold or silver mines in the West OF THE SAME PERIOD. Those Qwapaw photos look like they would make good prototypes for model lead mine structures, or any of the above. True, open pit mining today, like at Victor, Colorado, or between Beatty and Rhyolite on the edge of Death Valley makes for quite different structurs.
