     Good morning,

Re: converting one of my MTH Diesels to Lionel Legacy using their electronics from a Fully Loaded SD-70ACe Locomotive Donor.

I am in the last stages of the build. I have a couple of questions about the placement of the Bluetooth board, the I.R. Sensor Board, and the Hall Effect Sensor if it has one?  I need to know if these boards need to be placed in "line of sight" or can they be placed anywhere I can manage to fit them?

   Thanking you in advance,

   Carl

Where do you see a hall effect sensor on the Legacy SD-70ACe?  Do you have the product number for this engine?  The Hall Effect sensor only appears for the AF versions of modern Legacy locomotives, those use the back-EMF board and use the hall effect sensor for the prime mover ramp-up.

Obviously, the flywheel encoder ring and sensor board have to be precisely positioned on one motor to function.  The BT board can be most anywhere, and the IR transmitter has to be positioned on the bottom of the engine to trigger the LCS track sensors, most are on the centerline of the engine or tender.
