One of the club members has a cab 2 legacy handheld. It has version 1.41 on it I tried updating the handheld. Tried 1.61 no go. So I went back 1.51,1.52,1.53, and 1.54. All no go I checked the module by updating my handheld from 1.61 back to 1.51 and back to 1.61 with no problems.
Anyone ever run into this problem?
I know anything lower than 1.41 handheld needs to go back to Lionel.

Actually, only stuff lower than 1.20 had to go back to Lionel. After 1.30, you could write black modules and do any updates yourself. I don't know that I ever saw a 1.41, but if the update is failing, call Lionel and get an RMA, it's broken.
Are the batteries at full power?
Take them out and put them back in and try the update to the latest version.
New batteries still no good
i believe there is something wrong with the handheld. I told the owner to contact Lionel
