I bought the SF Legacy F3's #85186 w/Super Bass B-Unit last year. Pulled them out and running them for the first time. Under our tree I have all O36 curves and the engine has derailed several times and I'm running it SLOW! Has anyone else had a similar experience?? Thanks.

Jeff,
Does the same truck derail all the time? If so check is there is anything blocking the free movement of the truck such as a wire, traction tire etc. Also I do not know if the steps on Lionel’s F units are made from plastic or metal but is they are metal see if it is pushed in and blocking the truck from turning. A long time ago I had a set of Williams F units and one of the steps was bent in and prevented the truck from fully turning. Bent it the other way and everything was fine. If your steps are plastic DO NOT TRY TO BEND THEM.
Also if the tracks are on a rug under the Christmas tree the rug could be preventing the track from laying flat. Get a flashlight and inspect the train running around the track to see if it is a track problem or a engine problem.
Good Luck

They are rated for O31 according to the website. Make sure the ladders are not obstructing the movement of the truck as well. John has some good things to look for.
I have that same set. Check the little plastic MU hoses on the rear ends of the units. If the dummy couplers are bent too far up, they will contact those hoses on tighter radii.
