Yesterday my Legacy System ran fine. I ran three Legacy Locomotives without a problem. Today the handheld says it can not find the base. Any suggestions?

Any chance you forgot to plug in the base?
If using a power strip, did the breaker pop?
Are the base and handheld on the same channel?
I’m with Rick on this one Bill, ….look and see if the base is lit up, ….should be some small blue lights on the front of the base, and the words Lionel on each side should be lit up in orange …..check and see if the jack fell out of the base for whatever reason, If Rick’s checks prove inconclusive…..

This morning there is no change. The face of the control still reads "Base Not Found". I checked all connections and power is on. Orange Lionel lights on sides are illuminated. I do not know how to assure the base and the hand held are on the same channel.
Turn the base over and press the button on the bottom. Note the number of times the light blinks - that number of times is the channel number of the base, i.e., 4 blinks equals channel 4.
On the remote, press CTC and scroll to channel select - press the touch screen number that corresponds to the base number from above.
That should take care of making sure the base and remote are both on the same channel.
The simple way is to select SCAN when that error comes up, it'll look for the base on all nine channels.
Thank You Gentlemen. Will try these fixes.
To everyone that weighed in on this issue, Thanks very much. I followed the advice and it paired up ok. Everything ran fine after that. Bill
