legacy module for multiple units?

i recently got the milwaukee F7's (powered A, powered B, unpowered A).

i loaded the module for the powered A, but not for the others. i have them hooked together as a train and they seem to work as a unit, despite the fact that addressing the B and unpowered A as individual engines shows them in CAB-1 mode. have i done this correctly or should i load the one module for each unit?
