Legacy separation distance between F3 A & Pwr B

Hi Mike,

I could be way off, but this might have something to do with the Odyssey on off switch on each unit. I think they all should be set to the on position. If one is on and one is off, that might be the issue. This had happened to me a while back.

Thanks for your reply.  I forgot to mention they are both set to "odyssey on" position. 

I've noticed different models of Legacy locomotives don't have exactly consistent speeds at the same settings, so perhaps this amount of difference would not be fatal in the MU.  How do they act in the MU?  I believe it is better to have the slightly faster one in the rear, so at least that works out here.

Legacy locos have "back driveable gears", they will coast, which helps to level out any speed differences.

 If you couple a train onto the faster unit it will likely slow it down to the point where the slower unit would be pulling on it a bit anyway. The load of the train+the backdrivable gears will even things out.

Well, with Odyssey II, it's not supposed to slow down!

When I run the Legacy GP30 or GP35 separate, they run fine but in a lashup for some strange reason the coupler opens on the lead engine.  When that happens, its amazing, the lead engine will remain so close to the engine pulling the consist sometimes up to 20 cars,  its hard to see it uncoupled. It'll travel separate around the layout hugging the rear engine

Speed control on those buggers is excellant.

Well I tried it again in MU mode and all seemed normal. I didn't see any jerking.  So I am not sure what to think.

I suspect it won't be an issue.
