Hi guys, I just picked up a legacy station sounds diner in Amtrak. I'm trying to build a train with a Lionel JLC GG1 with railsounds 5.0. The GG1 is unresponsive to the remote when I build the train. Any ideas?

Make sure the engine didn't get added as a Legacy unit.

John;
Not to hijack this thread, but can you create a train where one component is Legacy and another TMCC???
Thanks.
Yes, but I believe you need the latest 6.1 version of the CAB2 firmware with the 6.0 version of the base firmware for it to work properly.

It's tmcc rs5.0

1.6 Base / 1.61 Cab2.
I'm running with version 1.52 on the remote & the base. Looks like I need an upgrade for this train to run properly.
Thanks Gunrunner and Marty. I have the Pennsy station sounds diner which I currently run with a Vision Line GG-1, but I also have a number of older TMCC Pennsy engines (including 2 JLC GG-1’s) - glad to know I can use them as a train.
the latest version of Legacy software is a good idea, but it will not resolve the non-responsive locomotive issue described in the initial post. As John mentioned, make sure the TMCC engine did not get changed to legacy control.
The engine is not in legacy mode. It's in tmcc & railsounds 5.0
What number are you using for the train? TMCC trains numbers must be 1 through 9
Good thought Chris!
Have you always had the GG-1? I have worked on more of those than I wanted to. The engine uses a code 13 R2LC. Did you reprogram the engine with AUX-1 code 8. That is the same code for a diesel with smoke. It will work if your board is not junk.

I'm using number slot 13. I think this is the issue, I'm not home now but will let you know for sure later on. Thanks!!!!!!! :-)

You didn't understand the comment! The CAB2 defaults to Legacy command type when you enter a new locomotive, so you have to change it to TMCC.
I changed the train to slot 9. It works! I didn't know that tmcc lash ups have to be in slots 1-9. Thank you.

I didn't enter a new locomotive I've had this engine for several years now. The diner is new. But I did just learn something new, and I'm glad it works. Thanks for your input.
Nice call Chris! Glad it's working now.
Blind squirrel theory in action.
I've fallen into this hole before. Kicking myself why won't a train work when suddenly the light went on....., it's a TMCC train!

Glad you're up and running. Nothing worse than a train that won't run.
