I own a Lemax L66401, Elf Skating Pond. The electric motor has worn out. Where can I purchase a replacement? It is branded TWC, 12 volts 50/60Hz and 4 watts. It is further stamped 10-12 Rev. per min, Counterclockwise. It has an offset gear shaft (not in the middle of the motor).

I tried doing a search using both Google and Bing, and nothing as far as parts availability listed. I would recommend contacting Lemax directly and ask if is available. I think you are looking for a 12v Synchronous motor, possibly made by TYC. An exemplar unit matching your description was found for sale on this site.

John's right that you are looking for a Synchronous motor. It's unlikely that you'll find an exact match at any hobby shop or Radio Shack. EBAY is loaded with Synchronous motors of every torque and speed. You'll probably have to modify the drive shaft of whatever motor you find. I've done at least half a dozen motor replacements on Department 56 animated pieces. I've always found motors with exact power specs but I have never found one with a drive shaft that didn't need modification. Good Luck!

Thank you John and Emile! The TYC is exactly what I need, just in 10-12 RPM. I followed the link to the product and was able to find one that will work. I may have to change the driveshaft, but I have the OEM one... popping the cover is super easy.
