Here you go Ed'... 😄
Ted, that's cool....
Oops, "That's coal!"
I built a small loco service and cabin car storage area in order that i wouldn't have to keep taking locomotives off the storage shelves every time i wanted to run one (less handling = less damage opportunities). With only two steam engines i felt a small coaling tower was in order. I scratch built this one.

Hey Everyone, thanks for keeping this thread alive. I had thought it was finished, but since it continues to flourish, I'm happy. I'm in the kit building mode currently and after seeing all of these nice Coaling towers, I've gotten the itch to scratch build my next tower. I recently purchase a GGD Wooden Coaling Tower, and I like it but I would like to get a concrete tower as well. Right now that seems to be a challenge finding one on the internet or waiting for it to be custom built, so I'm considering doing it myself. Question: Where can I find Counter Weights, Chains, chutes, etc. for the tower. I've looked on Plastruct but didn't see anything. Your knowledge will be deeply appreciated. Thanks again - MARSHELANGELO
Just completed a major kit bash of an older Lionel coaling tower. It is detailed inside and outside. The model includes a siding for unloading the coal, an operating lift for raising the coal into the tower, and a functional chute for loading the coal into the tender. Some short videos and photos are attached.
