The C&O is one of my favorite roads.. Following suite with a similar thread, let me see your C&O stuff. Could be steam, diesel or electric, or anything else!

Thanks, that was the longest train to date on the layout, I was trying to get all my little tank cars exercised.

The C&O, with its route and history by Thurmond through the New River Gorge, is my favorite "eastern" railroad. Sadly , not since l think WWII, has anyone offered, a then two rail, model of a C&O Mikado, with Elesco, flying pumps, and coal Vanderbilt. MTH offered a similar Pacific, which l think are scarce, but l favor freight engines. Another C&O favorite is the signal towered stations, once found along the New River. I'd like to see some photos of those models here.
OK- I'm in. I have more B&O/ Chessie but a few C&O's are in the fleet.

Not a towered station but a very accurate model of a C&O signal "cabin" from B.T.S. The semaphore next to it is an accurate example of a C&O train order board although I don't remember who made the kit.
An all C&O freight passing by the cabin. The T-1 2-10-4 is an old Sunset/3RD Rail brass engine from the mid 90's upgraded with new command control and sound.

Here's a New River Gorge station with the octagonal tower. One of these days I'm going to get the scenery in around it.

I had my GG1 fall off an elevated trestle... Lucky for me it was on the carpet, under the Christmas tree. Still have the willys when I see those elevated Turns! thanks

Thanks, Kanawha.. this is only the second time I've seen a model of that station. I had attended train shows where a model was shown, l remember as "O", that the guy was caring around, built to sell. I think he was from Louisville, Ky., a decade or more ago.

Really cool John.
( I'm trying to figure out a track plan on my 16×5 layout to fit that tank car consist of yours on .......besides an 8 foot high helix. )
Wow . Really a great expansive area for a train ' room ' !?! sir. 🤓
John, love the 54 tanker cars. Impressive. The most I have done was a UP Veranda pulling about 40 Tankers.

Thanks. One primary goal of my layout was the ability to run longer trains. I considered a dual track main but settled on a folded dogbone so I had all of the mainline track as a single track. Let's see, 12 x 24 = 288 sq/ft, 16 x 5 = 80 sq/ft. I can see a challenge getting 54 cars without at least two full levels there.

I liked the fact that the single Mallet was able to effortlessly pull them up the 2.5% grade, I wondered about that when I started building the consist.
I suspect my TMCC Veranda would probably not have a problem with that train, it weights a ton with that huge diecast shell. It also has two Pittman motors, something you don't see nowadays in Lionel equipment.
It took me two hours to prep for this post. I was having fun running what I pulled out of the cabinets to take pictures.
Diesels:
steam engines consist of a Consolidated, 2-6-6-2 mallet, Greenbrier, Allegheny, and a F19 Pacific.
Some videos of my run sessions including some freights with my newest caboose, the F19 with the George Washington heavyweights and Greenbrier with the newly repaired GGD 21” heavyweights.

Holy cow, that does look like fun.
Here are a couple videos of my small C&O fleet. I just got a C&O Magor caboose from Beth so I’ll try and post some shots of that later.

@kanawha I love that first car in the Greenbrier consist !
Forgot this little guy, I bought him years ago because I really liked the paint scheme. Obviously, the prototype didn't stay this clean for long I suspect!

It's a modified GGD RPO. Cut an opening for the second express door and added Lionel baggage car doors. It looks like an actual C&O RPO/Express now.

It's beautiful.. If only GGD would make the GW Set/individual cars...
This Lionel C&O #614 4-8-4 Greenbrier just arrived and made its first journey pulling the NYC 20th Century Limited cars I detailed. My Dreyfuss is headed back to Lionel.
Question: For some reason the C&O #614 rear tender light does not work when the engine is in "Trainlink" with the StationSounds Dining car. In normal 990 Legacy control the engine works perfectly with tender light going on when the engine is in reverse. This is the only engine I have that's lights do not change direction in "Train Link". What do you think?
Is the #614 seeing the programmed StationSounds Dining car as another engine? If I program the #614 as "reversed direction", then the headlight does not light. Very unusual.
Sincerely, John Rowlen

That's probably a question for the Lionel forums, it may be some combinations using TrainLink do odd things to the light operation. There's a lot of combinations that can be programmed, it's not surprising that some of them don't function 100%.
@GG1 4877 possible to ever see GGD offer The George Washington Pass Consist?
It's always a possibility. Remind me of the consist of that train. I seem to recall it was a mixture of heavyweight and streamlined cars from photos I've seen.
