Picked up this RS-3 at York.

Gorgeous... My dream would be that Lionel buys 3rd Rail (or vice versa...! ) so you could marry this kind of gorgeous detail with Legacy.
How does it run?
Ben,
I agree with you about Legacy being available for 3rd Rail, etc. I wish there was some solution that could work for both companies.
It is a very smooth running engine. It will creep along nicely
c.sam, a nice collection of some of the cars I've driven. Those English sports cars were a lot of fun to drive.
However, the only one I couldn't drive (too tall) was that twin-cam MGA, a very rare car in those days. They had a bad reputation for keeping tuned, but they were very cool and quick when they ran, in those days.
Here's my contribution - a Lionel 224 that I found in an antique shop for $24.00. The photo is after strip, paint and a box of new parts. Currently awaiting a rebuilt e-unit and bell bracket.
I will show my latest when I get back to the states. I ordered one of the Williams Scale NW-2 that were on sale this week for $98.00.
Dummy Ohio Central GP38. I had been looking for one for several years.
I went to Trainworld yesterday & picked up a few WBB engines - Didn't get any pics, as my layout is almost taken down for the move - nothing left but a loop of track on the board. But nevertheless -
They are having a sale - if you buy the AA units, the B unit is free!

Very simple concept. British cars from that era were made for the tinkerer .
If you couldn't tune an SU carburetor the SU stood for Scr U ed
I loved my MG.

Just bought a LCT Celebration series set, but it won't arrive till tomorrow.
Here is my latest. It is a 1947 2025 with Baldwin drivers and aluminum stack. I got it and the rest of the train off Craigs List as a basket case. After bead blasting and some "SEM" paint along with a box of parts from Jeff Kane it looks like new and runs fantastic.
Hello guys and gals.........
Who has williams trains GP-9 new in the box on sale for 99.00 ? I am looking for one but on very tight budget.
the woman who loves toy trains

My most recent locomotive purchase? That would be my second Marx 999. I have it on display in my cubicle at work so I don't have a picture of it.
It does however look remarkably similar to my first Marx 999!
Imagine the one below with a little more missing paint....
After a few years of 'do I or don't I', I finally did. And I am so glad I did!
3rd Rail PRR S2 Turbine. This guy is headed to J.D.S. Limited Productions for the full-blown Mac-daddy treatment in October! Soon to be featured on an upcoming edition of "Pimp My Choo-choo"
3rd Rail N&W K2a with a Lionel TMCC Auxiliary Water Tender
Well I seem to have been a bit active this year so far. I would've take these on the test track but that's clogged up with Superliners right now...and besides te lighting is better in the backyard:
Third Rail Greenliner
CSX Dash-8
7881 is a dummy I got to go with my K-Line club SD70
Norfolk Southern C40's
NS SD-50, long hood forward (since that's how it's set up to run)
...and short-hood forward, since that's how most folks are used to seeing them
My first Euro electric, a TRAXX F140
And last but not least, my first Imperial diesel, from the MTH Railroaders Club, a SD70ACE that will be hauling all my York boxcars.

Who me? Buy a new train? What train I have had this one a long, long time maybe 2 to 3 days.
Scott Smith
Mine came Friday, I've got a Silver one and a blue Conrail on the way, which makes seven GG1's now. I love running the WBB GG1's.
I don't have the curves to handle a WBB GG1, but I did get something at the blow-out sale from Micro-Mark.
I've wanted a Virginian Rectifier for quite a while and finally bought one. It arrived yesterday. I wired the motors in series, replaced the headlights with LEDs(warm white), fit in a modified a Lionel cab interior, and added some RailKing engineers...now I have one fine electric.
The blasting crew will be out soon, to heighten the tunnel to allow electric pantographs and Husky Stack cars.

That is sweet. Although I have three pieces of rolling stock in the scheme, I'm not that excited about most of the MTH deco items, but this one is extremely nice. They did everything right with the paint. Enjoy
My two latest acquisitions meet around the bend. Lionel 4-12-2 and Williams Penn Central GG-1 (Trainworld blowout):
Lionel Legacy E6 purchased in June 2011. This is my first Legacy engine and a fine model by Lionel to say the least! I really enjoy it! It has me hooked on O scale trains even more!
Keith, how did you get that electric through the tunnel with the Pantograph up? Don
Two picture of my "latest acquisition" which arrived today.
Another WBB Baldwin 10-wheeler. My fifth. I will leave it in the box for now (picture one). I have project plans for it, bashing, etc.
Most interesting thing is this. I ordered it from MB Klein (modeltrainstuff.com)- and as usual it arrived promptly within three days. Note, however, (picture two) the address and company Bachmann sent it too. Interesting. Did not/still do not know if there is actually ac onnection between these two companies, but maybe others know.
There is no connection that I know of between Williams by Bachmann, MB Klein's and Walthers. The vendor MB Klein just left the shipping labels on. It all depends on where Klein's gets the best price on the products they sell. Walthers probably had a better deal on Williams by Bachmann that day. At tmes the manufacturer is not the least expensive.
I got the Lionel Legacy Sharks about a month ago.
My son's new MTH Railking Dash 8 with PS 3.0
Impulse buy last weekend at the Merchants Square Mall in Allentown, took my daughter there to buy her a sewing machine and also picked up this Railking LV switcher.
As we are becoming more affiliated with the parent company, they have insisted that we operate more of the signature motive power so we have traded for/purchased several diesels in the Warbonnet colors over the summer.
It's great that this thread is still going as well it should be. No one has stopped acquiring new trains have they?
Oh? sorry to hear that Scott.....
This C-Liner is such a homely critter that it may just give up its innards and be relegated to the back lot!

What paint did you use? The sheen on it looks great.
