I liked your blue and yellow C. and O. diesels. They are beautiful.

The only one I have is the D&H ALco PA's from a few years ago.  Very pleased with this pair - both powered w/sound

I have a few taken over the last 14 years.

Not pictured are my CBQ E5 ABs set, PRR M1a, or my GGD cars.  I'll save those for a separate posting.

It should be pointed out that the diesels starting with the E7 in 2012 are not brass, but rather injection molded ABS shells with brass details added.  Plastic renders detail much better than brass can.  Enjoy the photos!

That's a great question Jerry.  The GG1 was my first project, and I did at one time count all the rivets on 4800 off of the PRR record drawings that I still have a copy of.  It got me started on a journey of new endeavors and friendships that to this day endure.  What I've learned about this hobby over the years is that the people you meet are more important than the toys.  In terms of models though, the SD40-2s wrap up soon though and from what I've seen, that may become my favorite overall project.  It took the most research and was overall the most complex single project the company has attempted to do at one time with all the variations.

Next up is a a re-release of the 1948 20th century limited from last year. I was running her on the NJ Hirailers layout.

Here's my Amtrak Silver Star 91/92. Consist is made up of two MTH Premier P42s, MTH Amfleet coaches and lounge and four GGD Amtrak Viewliner cars. Prototypical consists as of 1/28/24.

I have only eight 3rd Rail/Sunset engines, one an ABA, and they are all nice.  I think the steamers, because of the added detail they have, are great.  3rd Rail's first 3-rail engine, a PRR S2, did need some work to get it to run and look well.  After I bought it I found out it was really a Williams engine that 3rd Rail got after Willaims went bankrupt.

The 3rd Rail engine that I really wanted but took me years to find was their Q1.  I really like the look of this engine.

I now own 2 Sunset 3 rail models. CB&Q 2-8-2 4960 (photo attached) and I recently picked up CB&Q 4-8-4 5614. Sunset models are one of the finest on the market when it comes to detail and accuracy. I also own several of Sunset HO models as well, HO is still in my blood!

Here is posted my one and only 3rd Rail loco, a D&RGW "Water Buffalo" 4-8-2.  I had mulled over a CB&Q Mikado but just didn't like its looks. (Have to be high plains or mountain roads to sell here). C&S, FW&D, C,RI&P, CM, D&SL, Mopac,  Q, GW, Grande, etc. Easy to see why there have been no offerings of some of those, as only in steam.

Hey TrainBub - was there ever a prototype MP passenger diesel that sported silver trucks (even briefly) like the Gilbert Flyer Alco PA set of the mid 1950's? That and the Northern Pacific were my two favorites as a boy but could never afford them back then.

Not that I’m aware of. 🤔  
The models with silver trucks sure show Nice though.  In the real world, I’m sure they were a pain to keep clean. I’m sure if MP had them, that would have been the first thing Mr. Jenks painted black when he took charge !!! 🤣🤣🤣

Samson. I intend to ERR it "one day"; I may have to add an aux water tender for the board.

Now I can go to On30 without having to go to On30. Both 1:48 2-6-6-2's. Lionel USRA 2-6-6-2 on right.

Scott did produce models of 2 of the coolest locomotives the Rio Grande had: the L-105 and the L-131. Both offered in multiple variations. They were both done in the last decade and are absolutely spectacular.
I’d very much like to add either one to my collection but they were extremely limited production and mucho $$$$. I drooled over their announcements but sadly had to sit on the sideline as I was recently married with the wife in grad school and only a few years in to my engineering career: no money for any toys.

A friend of mine just installed a Blunami sound decoder in his Samson.  Since the Blunami runs on DC, he added a small full-wave bridge rectifier.  I've seen it in action, works and sounds great!  No need for an aux tender, either.

Mr. Selvius:  Sure do agree about the big  L's.  When they were offered, since l am only visualizing a connection to the Grande in my freelance short line theme, l just couldn't justify springing for possible mantle pieces that would not be logical on my rails, which might mean too tight curves.

A strawberry special departs Caprock, Texas.  Lighter green Railway Express reefers are Sunset (brass) and the dark green Santa Fe/Railway Express reefers are Golden Gate Depot (plastic).
