Has anyone operated one of the new lionel systems?  I've watched a couple of videos on youtube pertaining to this new control system.  It's looks to be an upgrade from my current conventional setup (baby steps).  And unlike conventional, it looks like it would work for me if i went ahead and bought a better control system like TMCC or Legacy.  I've never seen/held a controler but i'm guessing there are marks that help you determine speed.  My question is this:  I believe on TMCC, if i set the speed at say, 25% speed, the engine will remain at a 25% speed whether or not the train is going up or down a hill (cruise control).  is the lionchief that sophisticated?  i'm guessing that it's not, but i don't know for sure.  thanks, jeff

Lioncheif remotes are preprogrammed to the locomotives they come with. The remote and locomotive can only work with each other.  The remote can not operate any other loco and I believe the loco can not be operated by TMCC/legacy remotes.

TMCC and/or Legacy can be programmed to operate any TMCC/Legacy locomotive.

The cruise contol/oddyssey system is a feature of the locomotive itself if so equipped, not a feature of the control system.

A locomotive with cruise control will maintain its speed even when operated conventionally.
