Short clip of my LC+ Hudson on my in-progress layout.

Nice video. Like the sounds and smoke. Enjoy your engine.
Ken: The layout is looking very impressive. Keep it up! The Hudson looks good, chugging along. Makes me jealous.
After playing with the loco a few minutes, I can conclude its a home-run!
One of the worries that were posted was the speed control lag. On this LC+, it is very minimal, not a problem or issue.
There is a slight lag on blowing the whistle or bell. Makes sense, because a double-top does the remote uncouplers. I got used to it easily. I was more worried about accidently firing the couplers while signaling with the whistle. I can report that never happened with me.
Sound is wonderful - best sounding loco that I have. The smoke is great, and nicely synchronized with the chuffing a slow speed.
Ken, Hudson look's and sounds great, and so does the layout. Let's see some more of the layout .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Alex
Ken----looks awesome. Does it come with a whistle and what does it sound like?
Hi Ken, really liked your video. Smoke and sounds are great. How was your engine packaged? I guess the remote comes with the locomotive in two separate boxes. Anyway, awaiting my SF Mikado.

Very nice. You forumites are single-handedly selling me on Lion Chief Plus.
Thinking of getting the Chessie Mikado + Passenger set.
Looks (and sounds) great, Ken, as does your layout! I may have to spring for the Alaska RR version just to give LionChief+ a try myself.
Hi Tex - packaging was standard Lionel. A single large orange box. The foam was in two pieces with the blue ribbons and plastic wrapped. The remote was inset into the top piece of foam, with its own plastic wrap and I think a blue ribbon as well.
Anyway, very nicely packaged in one box. I was surprised at how heavy the loco was when first taking it out of the packaging.
That's pretty nifty for a midrange priced steam engine. Are the user activated announcements for freight service or passenger? If you get a chance a video with the announcements, bell and whistle would be appreciated.
LionChief + K4s or L1s please!

Thanks for the "unboxing" info Ken. Was the instruction booklet easy to understand and user friendly. I was thinking of one of these for a fellow disabled Veteran who likes trains. I wish Lionel would include an instructional DVD in these sets with the instruction booklet. Lionel instructional video's are great and easy to understand.

Love the smoke output!

Tex, the instruction booklet was easy and clear. Good diagrams.
Also came with a smoke fluid dropper. And a tool to remove the siderods from the last driver in order to change the traction tires (two replacements included). I liked that, though I have not yet needed to change a traction tire.
I ordered mine yesterday, should be here by the end of the week...for my birthday! Can't wait to try mine out, video looks real good.
