Lionchief Universal Remote Update not working in Android OS

My Universal Remote works just fine directly with my non Bluetooth Lionchief Plus RF Lionel 0-4-0 A5 switcher, (6-82976) but cannot update the UR to 1.3 with the Lionchief Universal Remote Updater inside Android OS. It keeps saying "device not supported".

Yet I CAN run the Lionchief App in Hotspot mode, although there is no road name in the carousel, just "steam locomotive.

Should I be concerned?
