I have a Lionel Carousel that lights and plays the music but wont turn.

Taking it apart, there looks like two plastic cylinders that mounts to the base that holds the the gearing in alignment.   The motor and gears look fine but the bosses that mounting screws go into have broken so they wont keep the cylinders in place to mesh the gears.  The plastic looks like its age brittled.

I have no luck finding replacement parts and even a parts list and exploded diagram to see how the parts assemble. This problem does not appear to have been discussed in the past.  My own idea is to try and epoxy new mounting bosses for each screw, a difficult task at best since gravity will tend to sag it until cured and access in restrained by wiring to the PCB.  Trying not to disassemble too much as more parts might break.

Any ideas how to fix or where to get parts or diagrams?

Thanks

Bob

Picture?  Or two.  Or...?

For those of us unfamiliar with the accessory/innards, it might help.

IOW, what are these "bosses" part of?  How have they broken?  Hard to imagine what the "cylinders" look like in this situation.

As for parts?...toughie, for sure.  Sometimes meets and flea markets are places to find items "For Parts".
