I posted this in the Lionel forum, but thought I’d put a post here hoping more people might see it. Apologies if this is the wrong place.
This is a Lionel 18824 Montana Rail Link SD9, and the power truck appears to have bent axles- in the video, you can see all three have a “wobble” which in turn causes the drive to bind with every revolution of the wheels. The whole truck is unavailable, so it appears that I need to replace the axles themselves. I do not have a wheel puller or press, so I’m thinking I need to get the parts and send out the truck? I’m pretty good with repairs as long as I have the proper tools but in this case I don’t.
I appreciate any recommendations for a repair person, I know we have a few here. Thanks all!
