Lionel 2127460 and 2127470 Passenger Cars

These cars have been trouble since I took them out of the cheap shipping container they arrived in. I have experienced constant derailments, car lighting, failure of the kinetic coupler spring design. I think I can fix the derailment problem by removing the diaphragm sticker plates. Has anyone else had the same experience?
