Lionel 45n auto gateman - switch integration | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have classic Lionel 022 switches with auto anti-derail function and track insulators.

Is there a way to patch common side of 45N gateman into switch dead zones or does short length of dead rail (live with truck wheels) cause gateman to flicker open shut....circuit closes then opens as lead truck exits switch before trailing truck arrives.

Otherwise I have to modify a straight piece to insulate one rail along the full length. Modifying straight easier than installing contact switches.
