Lionel does not have a parts breakdown of the smoke unit in this unit. It is the 2 piece unit. The fan housing detaches from the smoke element housing. There is also no gasket on this unit. Any help would be appreciated. I assume it is a 6 ohm unit. semi smart.

Look up 6101224200 and see if that is what you have.

Are you the same Shawn that was on the forum about 6 years ago and worked for a train shop?

Thanks, that unit is different. I locate a similar unit under the heading of semi smart smoke unit. I know the resistor so 6 ohms. But, was looking for a smoke motor number to determine if I had one in my spare parts inventory. Thanks for the help!
looks like there's room for either the horizontal or diagonal mount motor.
If you have about 1/8" of extra space below the motor, the MTH smoke motor will also work.
Ok, Frame replaced...Boy, this beast is tight! Now, if someone can help me. There is a stud on the rear truck. I have a conical spring. 2 washers one larger then the other. Plus, a aluminum spacer and a C clip. What direction does the conical spring face? Which washer goes where. Where does the aluminum spacer go?
