hello all, what i’m looking for and have not yet found is the parts list for the lionel 6-18090 it is the lcca produced in 1990 this is the delaware rio grande convention. this is a great strong runner and smokes like a demon so what i’m looking for is the smoke heater resistor value in this one to change resistors in other steamers like this one I could open the shell and one side of the resistors and meter it but hope I can get more info on this without opening this unit

It looks like it was made in 1990. That means it has a puffer unit with the resistor connected to track voltage. Most of these came with 27 ohm resistors though you might be able to go as low as 18 ohms which is what post war engines came with.

Ron,

Pete is correct. The 6-18090 takes a standard 27 ohm resistor, Lionel part number 600-8141-055 (8141-55). I'd caution using anything lower due to the plastic cover of the smoke unit.

Lionel never published a specific parts break-down for this loco.

Actually they did publish specific parts for this loco. Its the same as the 8610 Wabash and  18004 Reading that came out in 1989

Here is the breakdown:

Of course, but you needed to know that they were the same in order to find it.

And that information is not published anywhere, except in the heads of some of us Forumites.

Thank goodness for the forum, and for your comments @ZWPOWER13.
