Lionel 6-37909 Jet Snowblower car

A gentleman posted here on Friday seeking opinions on Lionel's operating Jet Snowblower car, particularly the Christmas version, No. 6-37909. I can say that this is a completely enjoyable operating car. It has fan-driven smoke & "turbo" sound effects. Smoke & sounds can be turned on/off via separate switches on the bottom. The sound volume is also adjustable. This car attracts much attention on my layout... among adults & kids! Do any other forum members have this model? It has been released in several road names, including two of non-operating versions.

I don't have one, but I've been keeping my eye out for one. I'd like to "enhance" the smoke output of one to see if I could really make snow fly!

Sam, when I got my "MOW" version in 2008, I believe, I took it to a meeting of my local train club. All the guys there loved it. While the Christmas version is nice, I am glad I have the MOW, as it can be more readily used year-round. Its up to you, of course.

I couple the NYC operating snow blower together with my NYC Jet Car. I just might be the only road with totally jet powered MOW! They are very fun cars. I mounted a spot light on top of my snow blower to even make it more dramatic. (I really need to get with the times and learn how to video )

That is a good idea with the added light, Rich. Sometimes the smoke plume is hard to see depending on the available lighting.
