All 3 of mine still operating same as the old Gilbert ones. Bulb adjustment is just as important as the originals. Tom, you seem to have a run of bad luck lately!

The glass is apparently sealed and yet I had one where the fluid totally evaporated.  Fortunately I had an extra bubble tube.  As noted, important to get the glass as close as possible to the lamp [heat source] for good action

I definitely have had the repro blues.  The M&M loader works well now and is a big hit with our granddaughter.  On the thread about Xmas layouts tells the story of our having to buy another pre-lite tree at the last minute.  We were lucky to get the floor sample.

I will see if Doug Peck has replacement tubes.  Imagine sealed tubes with evaporation problems.  The bulb is covered by a small metal plate, so to adjust it I guess I have to take the plate off?
