What is the difference between the Lionel 666 and the Marx 666? How do you tell them apart?

Here's my Marx 666 - nearly 63 years old and still running strong! It was my first train (Christmas 1958), part of a Sears Allstate set. In this first photo, we see Samantha guarding it and the Christmas tree (circa 2015?).
Remaining photos were taken on Panhandle 1. I ran it there in conventional mode using a TPC-400 and CAB-1.

What tender should go with the Marx 666?
Now that 666 locomotive is quite beastly!!!

Well, it has its own. But it can also take a 234 whistling tender. If you do that, the 666 can pull Lionel cars (because of the knuckle coupler on the rear of the tender).
