Has anyone that owns the Lionel AC-12 cab forward have any consistent/recurring issues when running it?

What version? I have the Lionel 6-11107 Lionmaster (2007). Wow... already 14 years old ... still runs great, no issues.

I have the TMCC scale version from about 2005 and one of the Legacy ones from 2013. Both were made from excellent tooling, probably some of the best Lionel has done, and I have had no operating issues with either. Sound and smoke effects are different, of course; in some respects I like the TMCC sound better. Anyway, this scale version is one of Lionel’s better products/reissues.

I have the 6-88071. It herks and jerks and surges when running forward. Runs fine in reverse. Have not figured out how to take it apart yet.
